After School Program

The Boys and Girls Club of South Central Texas is a non-profit organization located in San Marcos, Texas that gives back to the community in many ways. One way they give back is through their afterschool program. This program is for children, ages 3-18, and is meant to continue the child’s education after school is over, in a way that is fun for them. The program helps contribute to keeping children safe and out of trouble once school is over.

Recently, BGCSCT hosted their annual Family and Friends Night which featured various acts performed by the kids of the afterschool program. The event was also a way to say thank you to the families and volunteers. Throughout the event, volunteers were given plaques as an extra thank you from the BGCSCT staff. Before the event, BGCSCT sold concession snacks, T-shirts and raffle tickets to help support the organization.

The event showcased various activities that the students have been working on in the afterschool program; such as a sock puppet act, musical performances and a sing-along. The kids enjoyed showing their parents and friends what they have accomplished so far through the afterschool program. The community and children are grateful for their service and the service of all the volunteers!
